Master Chief Legalman Arletta L. Scott
Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Naval Legal Service Command

Master Chief Legalman Arletta L. Scott is currently serving as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Naval Legal Service Command. An East Chicago, Indiana native, Scott reported to Great Lakes Recruiting Training Command in September 1997. After she successfully completed the Seaman Apprentice Training Course, she headed off to serve onboard the USS SIMON LAKE in Sardinia, Italy.
In October 1999, Scott completed Yeoman “A” school in Meridian, Mississippi. She then embarked upon her next assignment at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. In October 2022, she converted to the Legalman rating in Newport, Rhode Island.
Scott reported to Recruit Training Command (RTC) Great Lakes, Illinois, where she served from January 2003 to June 2006. Following this tour, she moved on to her next assignment at Region Legal Service Office Europe and Southwest Asia in Naples, Italy where she served from June 2006 to November 2009. While working at the RLSO, she volunteered to fill a hostile-fire, mission critical assignment in Baghdad, Iraq.
In April 2008, Scott participated in Exercise Austere Challenge 2008 onboard the USS MOUNT WHITNEY. She then reported to Carrier Strike Group 2 embarked onboard the USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH from November 2009 to January 2013. From February 2013 to January 2016, she served at the Naval Justice School (NJS) in Newport, Rhode Island, as the Lead Chief Petty Officer (LCPO) for the Legalman Paralegal Education Program (LPEP) and also as Liaison with the Roger Williams University faculty and instructor. She then reported onboard the USS CARL VINSON in San Diego as the LCPO from February 2016 to February 2019. Following this assignment, she reported as the Senior Enlisted Leader to Defense Service Office North. Prior to assuming her current duties, Scott served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Region Legal Service Office Mid-Atlantic.
Her military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), and Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals (two awards), and various campaign and service awards.
