Administrative Support (Code 40)
Mission
The Administrative Support Division oversees all aspects of receiving, tracking and storage of records of trial received from Navy and Marine Corps Commands for review by the Judge Advocate General and the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals (NMCCA). Code 40 maintains the OJAG central files for court-martial records of trial.
Function
Code 40 maintains a post-trial case tracking system of those records of trial forwarded to the NMCCA for review in accordance with Articles 66, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). All records of trial received in Code 40 are reviewed for completeness prior to forwarding for review. Post review, Code 40 is responsible for the promulgation of decisions of the NMCCA to the appellant in accordance with the JAG Manual. Code 40 personnel also tracks cases submitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals of the Armed Forces (USCAAF) under Article 65, UCMJ, and promulgates the actions taken by that court.
